Wedding, 5th June 2010
Natalie Downe & Simon Willison cordially invite you to celebrate their happiness and toast to their future together at Roedean School, Brighton, UK, BN2 5RQ
If you are coming to the ceremony please arrive early because the service starts at 1pm on the 5th June 2010, followed by a feathery surprise at 2:30. The reception will start at 3pm & carriages at midnight.
As the ceremony will be in the old reference library in Roedean school, it is quite a small space so please do not be offended if you have not received an invitation to it. We still love you and want you to share in the main event which will indeed be the fabulous reception we have planned. If you are coming for the reception only please can you arrive in time for 2pm for the photographs.
After the wine and champers with the food there’s a bring your own bar. So gather ingredients for your favourite cocktails or bring along some beer or wine.
You can call us to RSVP or just for a chat on 07855 355 336. Email us on wedding@natimon.com or send us a note to Flat 23 Argus Lofts, Brighton, BN1 4AY.
Getting to the venue
The wedding ceremony is in the Old Reference Library at Roedean School, the reception is also on the premesis in a marquee on the football pitch.
Roedean School is halfway between Brighton and Rottingdean on Marine Drive (The A259). If you are coming from Brighton you will need to turn left along Marine way opposite the Marina, then the first right onto Roedean Road, continuing a short distance until the road meets Roedean Way at the end of that road is the driveway to the School. The Gate from Marine drive up to the School is unfortunately closed.
If you are walking from Brighton it's about 45 minutes, roughly 15 minutes in a taxi, or you can take a bus. There are more detailed directions on the Roedean School website
Accommodation suggestions
There are some lovely boutique hotels in Brighton, most have a 2 night stay minimum at weekends. The venue is not far from Rottingdean or Ovingdean if you are looking for something more on a budget. Below are a few suggestions.
- Blanch house — Luxurious small boutique hotel in Kemp town, fabulous cocktails and uniquely decorated rooms.
- Hotel Du Vin — Wonderfully plush larger hotel in a mock tudor building, in the Laines by the Seafront.
- The Sea Spray hotel — Another of Brighton's luxury botique hotels with individually decorated rooms.
- The Amsterdam Hotel — Cheaper but also very nice, one of the few hotels with no minimum stay period, also has sea views.
